Grandma’s Cocoa Frosting
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 4 cups confectioners sugar
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 evaporated milk (not sweetened condensed)
Sift together the cocoa and confectioners sugar. Cream part of the sugar/cocoa mixture with the softened butter. Blend in the vanilla and 1/2 of the milk. Add the sugar/ cocoa mixture and the rest of the milk, alternating between each. Beat to desired spreading consistency. Additional milk may be added. Frosts a nine-inch 2 layer cake.
